The Kennedale High School Theater Department under the direction of Heather Alverson has chosen the comedy ?Leading Ladies? as their maiden production for the 2014-15 year.

Two English Shakespearean actors, Jack and Leo, find themselves so down on their luck that they are performing “Scenes from Shakespeare” on the Moose Lodge circuit in the Amish country of Pennsylvania. When they hear that an old lady in York, PA is about to die and leave her fortune to her two long lost English nephews, they resolve to pass themselves off as her beloved relatives and get the cash. The trouble is, when they get to York, they find out that the relatives aren’t nephews, but nieces … and, that is when the farce begins.

This is Director Alverson?s first production at Kennedale High School since taking over the theater department this year. Alverson said about the production,?I love this play. It is just fun. and the kids are doing really well with it.”
 
She added that ?It really is a student production. They have done all the work from stage construction to sound and lighting to costume. I am excited.?
 
The cast members are all Kennedale High School students and include

Curtains opens Friday night at 7:30 p.m. with two more performances schedule for Saturday at 7:30 p.m. and a Sunday matinee at 2:00 p.m.
 

Adult tickets are $5.00. Student/Senior tickets are $2.00 each. Tickets are sold at the door.
