A local scout, Ashton Williams, from Kennedale Boy Scout Troop 35 in Kennedale is currently working on the requirements to earn the rank of Eagle Scout. Part of the requirements is to complete a community service project. Ashton provided the following information about his project.
“My name is Ashton Williams. I am a Boy Scout with Troop 35 from Kennedale, TX. {{more}}I am currently working on my Eagle Scout Project and I am in need of donations of money and materials to complete the project. July 19th, 2014 is my scheduled project date.
I am doing a conservation flower garden of Native Texas foliage at First Baptist Church located in Everman, TX. The church will take over the garden once completed and the flower bed will require little water and care with the use of Native Texas foliage.
What I currently need is enough funds to purchase the following:
- 1 Bird Bath
- 12 Stepping Stones
- 20 Flowerbed Stones
- 6 Trellises
- varies Crepe Myrtle Trees & Flowers (Cherry sage, vary of Echinacea and Daisies)
- 4 bags each Peat Moss, Fertilizer & Root starter
- 2 flowerbed & weed control netting
The approximate cost of the project is $1,200.
In order to make my project a reality, I am asking for the financial support of family and friends. If you are willing and able to donate to my project, I would be greatly appreciative. Any amount would help me complete my project and ultimately earn my Eagle Rank in Scouting.”
