Melanie Gibson, a sophomore, at Kennedale High has won a unique honor. She has earned an invitation to the National Thespian Festival in June of 2018. {{more: continue …}}
The 10th grader earned her invitation because of her entry in the Costume Construction category in a regional contest and will be one of the competitor in the national event.
According to KHS Theatre Arts Director Geneviene Croft, Melanie is the first competitor ever from Kennedale High School to qualify to the National Thespian Festival in a Technical Theatre Event.
Miss Gibson is just one of 15 students selected to move on to the National (International) Thespian Festival to be held next summer at the University of Nebraska.
