Beginning with The ART IN THE PARK this weekend, April 5-7 and continue through May with the annual Kid Fish May 18th the City of Kennedale has a number of different events and activities scheduled.

First off did you know the ?Splash Pad? in Sonora Park is now open every day from 8:00 am ? 8 p.m. When it warms up, it is a fun way to cool off and give the little ones a chance to play. {{more}}

Continuing the theme started last week with the ?Recycling Event?, the City is sponsoring two more events designed to spruce up the town. April 19th and 20th a Kennedale neighborhood ?Garage Sale? is being staged. Homes throughout Kennedale will be able to hold their own garage sale and advertise through the city webpage (Kennedale News will also post a list). You must call the city by April 15th to be on the list. The second event is a ?Citywide Cleanup? where residents of Kennedale will be able to take large bulky items and brush to the landfill located at 4144 Dick Price Road (will need a copy of a current water bill and a driver?s license). Hazardous waste will not be accepted.

Love birds? On April 20th, a ?Bird Identification Workshop? is being held?
at the Kennedale Community Center and Sonora Park 8 am to 10 am. It is free open to the public.

In May, two family friendly events are scheduled for May 18th. First is the annual ?Kid Fish? event from 9 a.m. to 12 noon. The pond at Sonora Park will be restocked just for this event. On the same day and in Sonora Park bring the family pet for ?Bark in the Park.? Festivities include free pet registration, low cost vaccine clinic, silent auction to support Animal Control services, pet contest, fun vendors and activities for kids!
