New KHS principal comes with 30 years in education

Justin Marchel was hired this month as the new principal at Kennedale

High School. He replaces Rita Pintavalle who was promoted to the central office as Principal of Secondary Education.

 
Marchel, a native of Kansas, received a education degree from Fort Hays State University and his master in education administration from Tarleton State University in Stephenville. He has been in education for thirty years with the last 20 as a school administrator. {{more}}
 

He has served as the Director of the Texas High School Redesign and Restructuring Project for the Texas Education Agency (TEA). The program was designed to help low performing schools improve. His other administrative duties have include high school principal in Cleburne ISD and in Grand Prairie ISD assignments included Dean of Instruction as well as being assistant principal on the high school and middle school levels.

His wife, Cathy, is president of the Cleburne Chamber of Commerce. They have three children, Haleigh and Lexie who are Texas Tech graduates and Tanner who is a junior at Tarleton State University.
 
In a statement to the Kennedale News, Marchel said
 
‘I am thankful for the opportunity to serve the students, parents, faculty and staff at Kennedale High School. It is with great excitement that I start this new chapter in my career and look forward to meeting all of you in the near future.

My goal for Kennedale High School is simple, ?To be the best we can be at everything we do?. Again, I look forward to serving the Kennedale Community.’
