No Shows at city budget and tax hearing, 2nd hearing this week

The City Council of Kennedale met in regular session last week on Thursday September 11, 2014.

The Council held the first public hearing on proposed budget and the increase in tax rate to finance the budget. {{more}}

 

No one showed up to speak.

A second and final budget and tax hearing is scheduled this week, Thursday, September 18, 2014 in Council Chambers at Kennedale City Hall. Meeting scheduled for 5:30 p.m.

The budget and tax increase will be approved at a special meeting on September 25, 2014, also in the Council Chambers at Kennedale City Hall. Meeting scheduled for 5:30 p.m.

The new tax rate is the same rate as last year?s $0.7475, but because that rate is projected to raise more revenue due to higher property valuations by the Tarrant County Appraisal District, it is considered a tax rate increase over last year.

The Council met in closed session and then adjourned following the closed session.
