Patterson talks local baseball history

Calling all Kennedale youth baseball players young and old. Come on out!

The Kennedale Historical Society will host a special event on Saturday, July 18, at the Kennedale First United Methodist Church combining local history with baseball. The event is scheduled to start at 6:30 p.m. in Dover Hall. {{more}}The First Methodist Church is located at 229

Robert ?Bob? Patterson will be the featured speaker and will be talking about the early days of the Kennedale Baseball Association, the forerunner of the Kennedale Youth Association (KYA).

There will be pictures, shared memories and a little history of the early days of the Association. This will be followed by a Hot Dog Cookout and a ?pick-up? baseball game for young and old.

Patterson, who knows the community well, also served for 28 years on the Kennedale School Board starting in 1965.

Join the fun and learn a little local history as well.
