10/4 – Possession Control Substance – 200 block Kennedale Parkway: At 11:26 a.m. an officer stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation. The driver, an adult male, was nervous and appeared to be trying to position himself to flee the scene on foot. The officer conducted a pat down for safety in order to secure the male. The male was found to be in possession of a syringe and two small bags of methamphetamine. The officer asked the adult female passenger to exit so a search of the vehicle could be conducted. The passenger placed her purse, which she was holding in her lap, onto the seat as she exited the vehicle. The purse was open and the officer observed a methamphetamine pipe inside the purse. She was also in possession of a bag of methamphetamine. She was arrested as well. Both were transported to jail for booking. The narcotics and paraphernalia were entered into evidence.
10/4 – Emotionally Disturbed Person – At 3:25 p.m. officers responded to a report of a group home resident attempting to harm himself and others. A known adult male, who is a resident of a group home for persons with special needs, had threatened a care giver as well as himself before leaving the residence on foot. Officers located the resident a short distance away, holding a broken pencil to his neck. The officers were able to get the male to drop the pencil and took him into custody. He refused to go back to the home and was transported to JPS Hospital for an emergency mental detention.
10/5 ? Emotionally Disturbed Person – Bell Oak Drive: At 11:22 p.m. an officer responded to a welfare check at a residence. A 26 year old female had posted on social media that she had taken a large amount of medication and a friend was concerned for her safety. The officer made contact with the parents of the victim, who took the officer to the victim?s room. The victim had taken a large amount of medications and had gotten physically ill from it. The victim stated that she had attempted to harm herself before. After being cleared medically by paramedics, the victim was transported by officers to JPS Hospital for an emergency mental evaluation and detention.
10/5 – Emotionally Disturbed Person – Crestview Drive: At 9:33 p.m. officers responded to an overdose complaint. An adult male stated that his wife had taken a large amount of medication and locked herself in the bedroom. The wife admitted that she had taken the medications in an attempt to harm herself. Paramedics were on scene and transported the victim to JPS Hospital for emergency treatment and evaluation.
10/7 – Emotionally Disturbed Person – At 5:01 p.m. officers responded to a report of group home resident in distress. The resident, an adult male known to officers from many previous calls, had gotten upset and fled the residence on foot. The resident was located a short distance away but tried to flee from the officers. He was detained but was highly agitated and distressed. After calming him down the officers were able to determine that he wanted to harm himself. The male was transported to JPS Hospital for an emergency detention.
10/8 – Incident – 500 block S. New Hope Road: At 11:00 p.m. an officer spoke to a male complainant by phone. The complaint was that the male had tried to file a theft report for a missing tool box and tools earlier this year. The complainant stated that he had found out that the owner of a house he was living in at the time was responsible. Further investigation revealed that the tool box was part of a civil agreement between the complainant and other parties. No offense was committed.
