Police Reports for February 21 – March 2

The Kennedale

Police Department reported the following incidents for the end of February and the begining of March, 2016. Burglary led the way with eight incidents (3 were vehicle related), followed by four thefts and three possession incidents. {{more:[Read more]}} Other incidents included hit and run (vehicle), missing person, forgery, assault w bodily injury, DWI, credit card abuse and criminal mischief.

 
These reports were in addition to on-going investigations. These do not include calls where no report was written. Some of the offenses, after further investigation, may have been deemed unfounded.
 
Week of February 20 -26 …
 
02/21 ? Hit and Run Accident ? 100 block of Peachtree Court: At 12:08 p.m. a victim reported that her vehicle, a 2008 Chevrolet Impala, was struck during the overnight hours by an unknown vehicle. The victim parked her vehicle legally at the curb on the street for the night. The next morning she discovered the vehicle had been damaged in the rear passenger side bumper and tail light.

02/21 ? Burglary ? 300 block of Bolen Road: At 11:58 a.m. an officer responded to a burglary report of two storage lockers. The suspect(s) had entered the locations through an unlocked storage locker and kicked out the particle board walls. Suspect(s) removed $6,310.00 in electronics and personal items from the two units that were entered.

02/22 ? Burglary ? 900 block of Corry A. Edwards Drive: At 1:00 p.m. a school resource officer was notified of a burglary at the junior high school campus. Three students had been identified as being suspects in the after-hours burglary of the sports field house. The students were able to gain access through the ceiling and removed property. The students gave statements to faculty admitting their involvement. The case was then turned over to the resource officer. The case has been referred to the juvenile court system.

02/22 ? Burglary – 400 block of E. Kennedale Parkway: At 8:25 a.m. a victim reported that unknown suspect(s) entered his business over the weekend and removed tools and copper wiring on a spool. The items were valued at $2,100.00.

02/22 ? Possession of Controlled Substance ? At 10:30 p.m. officers responded to a report of found narcotics. A juvenile reported that methamphetamine and related paraphernalia were found in an adult family member?s bedroom. The items were given to police and were placed in evidence. Since the juvenile and adult are the only family members living at the residence, CPS was notified about the incident.

02/23 ? Theft $2,500 to $30,000 ? 600 block of W. Kennedale Parkway: At 3:57 p.m. a victim reported that unknown suspect(s) removed his catalytic convertor from his pickup truck during the overnight hours. The vehicle was parked outside of a business.

02/23 ? Theft $30,000 to $150,000 ? 1000 block of Oak Hill Park: At 2:23 p.m. a victim reported that he had been defrauded out of $116,792.00. The theft occurred as the result of an on-line sale of vehicle parts. The money was to be wired to an account and the seller would ship the parts overseas. The seller claims to have never received the money and didn?t ship the parts. The victim?s bank did wire the money to the account given. The case is still under investigation.

02/23 ? Credit/Debit Card Abuse ? 500 block of North Road: At 3:40 p.m. a victim reported that unknown person(s) used her debit card to access her account without permission. The suspect(s) withdrew a total of $708.40 over four different transactions. The victim?s card may have been lost in a parking lot and found by the unknown person(s).

02/24 ? Vehicle Burglary ? 400 block of E. Kennedale Parkway: At 6:33 p.m. a victim reported that her vehicle, a Dodge truck, was parked on a friend?s property. Unknown person(s) entered the property and damaged the door handle. Suspect(s) also removed the engine computer and the battery. The damage and items removed totaled $444.00.

02/24 ? Theft $100 to $750 ? 1000 block of Bowman Springs Road: At 8:00 a.m. a victim reported that unknown suspect(s) removed a generator and chain saw from a storage unit on the grounds. Suspect(s) also attempted to steal a vehicle but were not successful.

02/26 ? Recovered Stolen License Plate ? 1200 block of W. Kennedale Parkway: At 8:43 p.m. an officer observed a vehicle with a temporary plate. The plate returned to a boat trailer and showed to be stolen. The driver was contacted and stated that he had bought the vehicle with the plate at a car dealer in Fort Worth. The plate was seized as evidence. The driver and vehicle were released after confirming that the vehicle was not stolen.

02/26 ? Burglary ? 700 block of W. Kennedale Parkway: At 6:50 p.m. a victim reported that his business was entered by a possible known suspect during the overnight hours. The suspect removed tools valued at $1,858.98. The suspect had attempted to enter the business earlier in the day but was stopped by an employee who was on site.

02/26 ? DWI ? 700 block of W. Kennedale Parkway: At 10:28 p.m. an officer responded to a report of an intoxicated driver. A witness had almost collided with the vehicle, which then pulled into a parking lot and stopped. The witness took the suspect?s keys and called police. The suspect was unable to successfully perform a field sobriety assessment. He was transported to jail for a breath test, which indicated intoxication. He was booked into jail without incident.

02/27 ? Criminal Mischief $100 to $750 ? 6700 block of Oakcrest Drive: At 1:09 p.m. a victim reported that unknown person(s) had shot out a window on his vehicle. The vehicle was parked at the victim?s place of employment. The window was valued at $125.00.

Week of February 27 – March 2 …

 
02/28 ? Possession of Drug Paraphernalia ? 6000 block of E. I-20: At 5:02 p.m. an officer stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation. The driver, 33 year old male, advised that his license was suspended. During the interview the officer located paraphernalia related to the use of methamphetamine. No actual narcotics were found at the time. The driver was cited for the offense and the evidence booked in for safekeeping.

02/29 ? Theft $750 to $2,500 ? 600 block of Little School Road: At 12:39 p.m. an officer received a report from T Mobile representative that a cell site had suffered damage. Person(s) unknown had removed a $1,600.00 battery from the site. The representative advised that the theft was committed by someone who understands the system and how it operates to be able to remove the battery without setting off an alarm.

02/29 ? Burglary ? 100 block of Arthur Drive: At 7:30 p.m. a victim reported that person(s) known entered his unlocked backyard storage shed and removed a number of tools and other items. The total value of the stolen items was $7,037.00.

03/01 ? Vehicle Burglary ? 400 block of S. New Hope Road: At 10:45 a.m. a female reported that person(s) unknown had entered her husband?s work truck and removed tools. The offense occurred during the overnight hours.

03/01 ? Assault Bodily Injury ? 300 block of W. Kennedale Parkway: At 3:51 p.m. an officer received a report of an assault. A customer of a business stated that she had been assaulted by an employee of the business. The assault occurred during an altercation over what the customer perceived as poor service. The employee followed the customer into the parking lot and caused a car door to contact the victim, a 59 year old female. The employee left with another employee when the victim stated that she was calling police. The suspect was not on the scene and did not return while the officer was present. The victim did have an injury consistent with the claim of assault.

03/02 ? Forgery, Possession of Narcotics ? 1200 block of W. Kennedale Parkway: At 1:30 a.m. an officer was contacted by an employee of a business. The employee stated that a known suspect had just passed a counterfeit $20 bill. The suspect, a 22 year old male, was still on the premises. The officer contacted the suspect, who was occupying a vehicle with three other persons in the parking lot. The suspect claimed that he had received the bill from his brother. During the interview it was determined that the suspect had several other bills matching the one that had been passed. One of the other vehicle occupants, a 19 year old female, was found to be in possession of marijuana and methamphetamine. The male was arrested for the counterfeit money and the female for the narcotics. Both were transported to jail for booking.

03/03 ? Assault Bodily Injury ? Arthur Drive: At 11:40 a.m. officers responded to a report of a domestic disturbance. A victim reported being assaulted by her roommate during an altercation. The victim displayed an injury consistent with being assaulted. The suspect, a 23 year old female, was arrested and transported to jail.

03/04 ? Vehicle Burglary ? 200 block of 3rd Street: At 5:26 a.m. a victim reported that her vehicle was entered overnight. Person(s) unknown entered the unlocked vehicle and removed $500.00 from the console.

03/05 ? Missing Person (Adult) ? 700 block of E. Kennedale Parkway: At 4:13 p.m. an officer received a report of a missing 38 year old female. The female was reported to have left her residence the day before and had not been heard from since 3:57 a.m. on the day of the report.

03/05 ? Hit and Run Accident ? 200 block of W. Kennedale Parkway: At 12:58 p.m. a business reported that a male driving a box van hit the awning of a drive-thru facility. The male left without contacting the business. Damage was estimated at $5,000.00.
