Police report a rash of vehicle burglary ? most of unlocked autos parked at home

Typical of the reports that the police had been getting all last week was the incident report submitted last Saturday, October 12.

Vehicle Burglary – 1100 block of Greenview Drive/ 1100 block of Parkview Court: At 8:49 p.m. an officer was dispatched to Greenview on a vehicle burglary complaint. On arrival the victim stated that his vehicle had been entered overnight and the contents gone through, but nothing was taken. While at the residence the officer was notified of another overnight burglary on Greenview Drive. {{more}}The second vehicle was possibly unlocked and was missing $30.00 in change. The officer scanned the neighborhood and found two other addresses where unlocked vehicle had been entered overnight. Nothing was taken from those vehicles but the contents had been disturbed. The officer also discovered a vehicle on Parkview Court that had been entered. The unlocked vehicle was missing a key ring. At 1:00 p.m. that same day, the officer responded to Peachtree Court to assist Arlington P.D. in recovering a vehicle stolen in their city during the same overnight hours. The vehicle had been unlocked and the keys left in it. The vehicle was processed for fingerprints. The vehicle owner is providing officers with a video of the suspect taking the vehicle.
