Godley is a longtime girls? basketball powerhouse. Teams played Godley just to see how they measured up. Few expected to win and few have. In the last 7 years Godley has gone 175/43 and won or share a district championship 6 times and their success goes back much further.

Kennedale and Godley have played each other 8 times in the last three years with Godley holding the edge 5-3. They shared two district championships. Each has a tournament championship win over the other. And each has one overtime wins over the other.
After Godley was moved up a classification, Kennedale and Godley were placed in the same district for two years (2014/15 and 2015/16). Both years Kennedale and Godley shared the district title playing some memorable games. Twice there were overtime games with each winning one.In the first season (2014-15) Godley and Kennedale were 3-1, In early season action, Godley beat Kennedale in the championship game of the Granbury Classic with a 52-50 overtime win. Later in district play, Kennedale and Godley split wins with the second game of that series won by Kennedale in overtime. Godley took the fourth game that season in one-game playoff to determine top seed in the district for the playoffs.Last year, 2015/16, Godley and Kennedale again split district wins and shared another district title. Godley won the playoff game to earn the top seed for the playoffs.
This year and no longer in the same district, the two teams met once again, this time in the championship of the Brock tournament with Kennedale coming away in a squeaker 55-52.You have to go back to 2010-11 and 2011-12 to find another home and away series.
