Rick was a well-liked principal at Kennedale High School in the 90’s. He had come from Arlington ISD when he was hired by to be the assistant principal at the high school. He later moved up to be principal. He was an instant hit especially with the staff, always friendly and low-key. He only stayed a few years when he left Kennedale for east Texas and fishing. {{more}}

A motorcyclist was killed Wednesday morning in a two-vehicle wreck on Texas 199 near Azle, authorities reported.
Rickie Larkin, 63, of Athens was pronounced dead at the scene at 9:40 a.m. at Ashwood Street and Texas 199, the Tarrant County medical examiner?s office reported.
Larkin was riding a 2001 Harley-Davidson on the highway when a 1996 Honda Accord pulled out from a side street, hitting him, DPS Sgt. Lonny Haschel said.
The driver of the Honda was not injured, Haschel said.
