Leading the way for SLU was junior outfielder Katie Lacour, who was named first team All-Southland Conference for the second straight season. Senior third baseman Megan Moore, junior designated player Amber Sather, freshman shortstop Sydney Booker and freshman outfielder Kinsey Nichols were all third team selections, while junior pitcher Taylor Bishop was an honorable mention selection.
The six All-Southland honorees tied a school record for SLU, matching the totals in 2001 and 2002. Southeastern head coach Pete Langlois was pleased to see his players honored.
“All six of our players that received All-Southland Conference recognition were definitely deserving,” Langlois said. “Katie is the person who makes our offense go, while Megan and Amber have been very productive in the middle of our lineup.
Sather also earned All-Southland honors for the third straight season, as she was an honorable mention selection each of her first two seasons. The Kennedale, Texas native shares the team lead with seven home runs and has a single-season school record 40 walks to go with 30 RBI and six doubles. Her 106 career walks are also a program record.
