School district opens with all teacher hired after thousands applied for 29 positions. Still short a few aide positions

Dr. Karen Furman reported at the annual convocation at Kennedale High School on Friday, August 27 that Kennedale ISD had 29 new hires for professional positions (teachers, counselors or curriculum support). These new hires were chosen from approximately 7,700 applications. This means than less than one half of one percent of applicants to teach in KISD this year were selected. {{more}}

Dr. Furman welcomed the staff with the theme of “We stick together” ?She noted that on staff this year are 26 cafeteria workers, 38 custodians and maintenance workers, 68 paraprofessionals and clerks, 10 secretaries, 207 teachers, 26 support staff, 23 administrators.
