Seniors bid their high school years goodbye- KHS graduation 2015

Saturday night the Class of 2015 received their diplomas and said their final goodbyes to Kennedale High School and KISD, for many it was 13 years? worth of memories. {{more}}
 
It was a packed house in the 3500 seat MacGorman Chapel on the campus of Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth. In fact a number of people were left standing in the lobby as all seats were filled.
 

Besides receiving their diplomas the traditional valedictorian and salutatorian speeches were given by Blake Bunnell and Pablo Cruz followed by the commencement speech by Danny Greenfield, retiring James Arthur Intermediate principal. Read the text of their speeches School News ? High School.

 
…over $560,000 in scholarships in first year …
 
The 237 member senior class collected in excess of $560,000 in college scholarships. They will scatter across 11 states and one overseas country to attend over 65 different colleges including most of the local and state colleges in Texas including UT, A&M, Tech and TCU. Others are going to schools ranging for San Diego State to Florida State and from Penn State to the University of Chicago. One will travel to the Yonsei University in Seoul, South Korea. Many, however, are staying close to home to get basics out of the way at TCC before spending big money going to the larger universities.
 
Seniors this year were a major part of the success this past year that the school had including the Wildcat Marching Band?s top five finish in state UIL Competition and a 6th straight UIL Sweepstakes Award; a top two finish in Austin in UIL Computer Science with one senior winning gold; a top 3 finish in the State UIL Student Film Festival with Kennedale?s first ever entry; and a state championship for the LadyKats soccer program. KHS won or share ten team district championships, five area championships, two region championships and one state trophy.
 
It has been a good four years for this class of seniors.
