? ? ?The First Methodist Church of Kennedale is in their 4th year helping stock the area food banks according to church member, Laurie Middleton Sanders. They have a unique way of doing it ? “Robin on the Roof“. On this site you can see a brief video by ?Robin?.?This year the collections will be for charities in Arlington, Kennedale, Granbury and Bisbee among others. ?The goal is 75,000 lbs of food. {{more}}?According to Sanders, Robin feels called to collect 75,000 pounds of food for food banks in the Arlington/Kennedale Texas area. She is going up on the roof of Kennedale First United Methodist Church at 9 a.m. on Friday, May 31, 2013 and will not come down until she collects the much needed food for the cause.?With school getting out for the summer, there are a lot of kids who will no longer get breakfast and lunch at school. These families are hit hard by the added grocery expense and some will need to seek help at area food banks. The food banks will be depleted, without help.?The First Methodist Church is asking for help to get Robin down by dropping off donations of canned goods at the church or donate online. Every $1 donated = 5 lbs of food.?This is the price that Tarrant County Food Bank charges the smaller area food banks when they purchase food to fill their shelves.
