Smash and grab and copper wire thief part of KPD report

The Kennedale Police weekly report included one where a report that suspect(s) had cut approximately 220 feet of copper telephone wire that was strung between two utility poles that could part of a string of similar incidents reported in Fort Worth. {{more:Read more …}}Another report involved a smash grab when a truck window was broken and items were stolen from inside.
 
The following reports for the weeks of December 4 – 10 were in addition to on-going investigations by the Kennedale Police Department. These do not include calls where no report was written.

12/4 – Driving While Intoxicated – 1200 block W. Kennedale Parkway: At 9:33 p.m. officers responded to a report of an intoxicated person purchasing beer. On arrival officers located a 53 year old male sitting in the driver?s seat of a Saturn sedan. The vehicle was running but not in gear. The male had an open 40 ounce container of beer in the console cup holder. He was unable to successfully complete the field sobriety assessment and was arrested for DWI. After being transported to jail, the jail nurse refused to accept the suspect due to his severe intoxicated state. The suspect was transported to Mansfield Methodist Hospital where a blood draw was performed by medical staff. The officer released the suspect to the hospital due to his condition. A warrant will be issued when the blood results are reported.
 

12/7 – Theft of Materials Under $30,000 – 400 block E. Kennedale Parkway: At 7:38 a.m. an officer responded to a theft of copper phone wire. Suspect(s) had cut approximately 220 feet of copper telephone wire that was strung between two utility poles. The AT&T representative reported that they have had a number of these types of theft in Fort Worth close to Kennedale and believe this may be the same suspect. The loss was reported at $5,000.00.

12/7 – Possession of Drug Paraphernalia – 1200 block Little School Road: At 8:32 p.m. an officer stopped a vehicle for a traffic offense. The odor of marijuana was observed coming from the vehicle interior. A subsequent search of the vehicle revealed marijuana paraphernalia. The driver was cited for the contraband and the traffic violation, and was released at the scene.

12/10 – Vehicle Burglary – 400 block Mansfield Cardinal Road: At 8:20 a.m. a victim reported that unknown person(s) entered her locked vehicle by smashing the passenger side window. The victim had left her wallet along with jewelry on the front seat of the truck. All of the items were gone as well as a step rail that was in the bed. The vehicle was parked outside of the victim?s place of employment when the burglary occurred.

12/9 – Theft $750 to $2500 – Woodland Court: At 1:42 p.m. a victim reported that a known suspect removed property from her residence without her permission. The suspect is a homeless male who is known to the victim through her employer. The victim allowed the suspect to stay at her residence overnight and after she left for work the next morning, the suspect is believed to have left with the property. The property taken consisted of electronics and personal items.
