The Kennedale
Wildcat basketball team, having to replace some key players from last year, didn?t
miss a beat in district play. The Cats went
12-0 and captured another district title while keeping the championship streak
alive at 4 in a row.
Overall, the team
finished at 25-11 and reached the region quarterfinals of the state UIL playoffs.
The team earned 10 District 7-4A individual honors plus one for coaching staff of the year.
Top honor went to
Tre Jones (So) as the district?s MVP. Tai Davis (Jr) was honored with the 6th
Man of the Year.
Three earned 1st
Team recognition ? Uniikye Washington (Jr), Devon Stapleton (Jr) and Chris
Saulsby (Sr). Washington made 2nd Team honors last year.
Second Team honors
went to Bryce Hackett (Jr) and Alex Groff (Sr). Honorable Mention went to Stephone Jackson, who also made all-district last year.

Miller Award for what represented the best in character, determination and dedication
for the Wildcats went to Dylon Barber (Sr) and Godfrey Agogo (Sr).
?I don?t know if we ever had a team that is so tight, that care such much about each other? They just didn?t want to lose or let each other down. We may have been out matched in talent but we were never out matched in heart and fight.? Head Coach Doug Groff
