Kennedale High School senior Allie Thornton was nominated and then voted dfwVarsity 2015 High School Female ?Player of the Year? this week. {{more}}
Thornton was a member of Kennedale?s 2015 UIL State 4A Championship Soccer Team. Last year as a junior she was selected as Player of the Year on the 2015 Star-Telegram girls soccer Super Team.In addition, she was selected to UIL 4A State Championship All-tournament team and was named the MVP of the state championship game when the LadyKats defeated Princeton 4-1. In that game Thornton scored twice and had one assist.
She ended the season last year with 38 goals and 22 assists. Starting as a freshman, Allie has been the district MVP for the past three years.
Thornton with the rest of the LadyKats are about to begin defense of their state title next week in their season opener. Kennedale returns almost the whole team, losing only three seniors off of last year?s state championship team.See schedule and read more at KennedaleLadyKats
