Three seniors recently signed college letters of intent to play basketball, Colton Otts, Brandon Conwright and Darious Hammond. {{more:[read more]}}
These three have all contributed to the KHS Wildcat Basketball program that has gone 81-22 the past three years, winning three district titles with a final four, a regional quarterfinal and a regional semi-final finish in the last three state playoffs.This year Kennedale finished at 24-13 after a remarkable turnaround from a losing mid-season record to finishing as one of the final 16 teams playing for a state 4A title.Colton Otts …

Three year letterman, Otts signed with Kansas Wesleyan University. He was selected to the 2016 7-4 All-District 1st Team. This was his third time to be selected as an All-District player. He was also selected as the Wildcat Offensive Player of the Year.
KWU is a 130 year old private university located in Salina, Kansas. The school offers MBA, BA, BS, BSN, AA degrees. KWU is affiliated with the United Methodist Church. Brandon Conwright with KHS Coaches Groff and Munson Three year letterman Conwright signed with Anglo State University. He was chosen this year to the All-Region Team for Class 4A Region 1 for the second straight year. Conwright, a 3 time All-District player, was selected as the 2016 District MVP as well as sharing the 2016 Wildcat MVP.
Darious Hammond with KHS Coaches Munson & Groff Two year letterman, Hammond, signed with LeMonye-Owens College in Memphis, Tennessee. He was selected to All-Region Team for Class 4A Region 1 this year. He was 2016 1st Team 7-4A All-District selection, his second year for All-District honors. He also earned the 2016 Wildcat Co-MVP award.
LOC is located in Memphis, Tennessee. It is a historically black college dating back to 1871 that is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges and offers a liberal arts education. Students can concentrate studies in Business and Economic Development, Education, Fine Arts and Humanities, Natural and Mathematical Sciences; and, Social and Behavioral Sciences.
