Tonight is the final game for the Lady Kats in quest for another perfect district season

The Kennedale Lady Kats currently have an overall record of 21-13 and 11-0 in district play. They have one more game tonight to be able to cap their 4th straight undefeated district season.? {{more: continue …}}

The Kats, who have already secured a playoff berth, will travel to Benbrook for their final game of the regular season. Game time is 6:30 p.m. The Kennedale Wildcats (22-8, 8-1) will follow with a game against Benbrook boys at 8 p.m. (The boys team still has three games left in their season).

The Benbrook girls trail Kennedale in the standings. In fact, the only loss of the district season is to the Lady Kats when Kennedale defeated the Lady Bobcats 58-37 on January 14. Playing at home, Benbrook will be trying to topple Kennedale in hopes of forging a tie at the top of the standings.

In their last two games Kennedale defeated Dunbar 89-35 followed by a 85-23 win over Diamond Hill-Jarvis.

• Top scorer for the Kennedale Lady Kats was Peyton Landry with 23 points along with 10 steals, 9 assist, 5 deflections and 6 total rebounds. Reagan Jackson and Tawny Smith-Knox both ended the game with 20 points. Jackson had 6 steals, 6 assists, 3 deflections and 10 tl rebounds. Smith-Knox recorded 3 steals, 3 assists, and 3 deflections. Kelson Martin finished with 12 points and 7 rebounds; Bailey Thorpe 4 point, and 2 rebounds; and, Ella Childress 4 points, 6 rebounds and 3 steals.
