The second night of Austin auditions showcased more Texas talent. And a familiar ?Idol? face.
Tristen Langley, 15, showed up with his guitar and mom in tow. That mom was Nikki McKibbin, who {{more}}finished third during the inaugural ?Idol? season in 2002 (just behind Kelly Clarkson and Justin Guarini). It was a true OMG moment.
Tristan, who hails from Kennedale in Tarrant County, earned yes-es from judges Jennifer Lopez and Keith Urban for his charming take on Sublime?s ?Santeria? as mom watched nearby and mouthed the words. It was a sweet, sincere moment. I was as happy for Nikki as I was for Tristan.
