Ricardo Pena and Braxton Lediaev, Kennedale High School Wildcat powerlifters, have been selected to the Texas High School Powerlifters Association (THSPA) Elite All-State Academic team. {{more: continue …}}?
The THSPA has three teams for all-academic. To be considered for any of the teams, an athlete must be nominated by the head coach, must be a senior, currently competing, have a GPA of 92 or above, be of good moral character and have represented his school in a manner that is worthy of this honor.

Both Pena and Lediaev made the top team. Only 19 students were recognized for the elite group. The three teams are:
- Elite (GPA ? 98 & above)
- 1st Team (95-97.99)?
- 2nd Team from 92-94.99)
