Two headed to State Powerlift Meet for 2nd year after KHS wins another Region title

Earlier this month, Kennedale High School competed at the Region 6 Division 2 Powerlift Meet and came away with the region championship, besting 21 other high schools in the meet and qualifying two lifters for the state meet this Saturday in Abilene. For Kennedale, Justin Lindsey and Brent Reed qualified for the state meet for the second year in a row. {{more}}
 
Overall, Kennedale finished first followed by Decatur, Castleberry, Iowa Park, Bridgeport, Mineral Wells, Graham, Princeton, Bonham, Sanger, Argyle and Wichita Falls Hirschi rounding out the top 12 finishers.
 
Justin Lindsey competed in the 114 lb weight class with a body weight of 110.5. His lifts were 375 (squad), 190 (bench), 350 (deadlift) for a total of 915lbs. His lifts were not only 1st in the region but set the region record. His best this year is 390, 195, 370 for 955lbs.
 
Brent Reed competed in the 275lbs weight class with a body weight of 271lbs. His lifts were 600 (squad), 300 (bench), 590 (dead) for a total of 1490lbs, placing him first in the region and his best for the year.
 
Also competing at the region meet for Kennedale this year were:
 
AJ Garcia finishing 10th in the 134lbs class at 131.4 with lifts of 280, 190 and 330 for 800lbs. (best 870)
 
Stephen Linares finishing 5th in the 148lbs class at 145.9 with lifts of 390, 215 and 415 for 1020lbs. (best 1030)
 
Kaiser McGlothen finishing 3rd in the 165lbs class at 154.8lbs with lifts of 460, 240 and 450 for 1150lbs. (best)
 
Trey White finishing 5th in the 198lbs class at 191.4 with lifts of 510, 275 and 440 for 1225lbs (best)
 
Colton Hall finishing 3rd in the 220lbs class at 207.9 with lifts of 515, 270 and 510 for 1295lbs (best)
 
Matthew Naugle finishing 3rd in the 242lbs class at 233.1 with lifts of 530, 315 and 490 for 1335lbs. (best)
 
Andrew Flannigan finishing 5th in the SHW class at 310.4 with lifts of 550, 320 and 505 for 1375lbs. (best)

The coach for the team is Bryan Barrett, KHS Strength and Conditioning Coach.
