This past week two local drivers, Jeromy Hefler and Kyle Jones, both of Kennedale, raced in the super bowl of racing ?The Chili Bowl Midget Nationals? in Tulsa, Oklahoma. {{more}}
The week-long event is held in the Tulsa Expo Raceway, a quarter – mile clay oval inside the River Spirit Expo Center at Tulsa’s Expo Square.
Drivers qualify through a series of qualifying races beginning with ?N? and work their way up through ?B? and then the finals on Saturday.
This year there were 330 drivers representing Canada, England, New Zealand and 27 American states.

In the Wednesday night qualifiers, Jones placed first in his first heat moving him on to the next level. Jones then placed 7th and in the final race of the night, 11th. This qualified Jones to race on Saturday in the ?G? Main race where he finished in 12th place.
Hefler raced in the Friday night qualifiers. In his first heat, Hefler finished in 6th place and then placed 5th in the qualifier. Hefler qualified for the ?I? Main 1 race on Saturday, where he placed 13th .
