UIB should be in the forefront in determining city’s utility projects says Campbell

Utility and Infrastructure Board meets Thursday

 
At the April meeting of the Kennedale Utility and Infrastructure Board, Kennedale City Manager George Campbell stated that he would like to maximize the Board as a recommending body to staff and City Council for utility related issues and project recommendations. {{more:READ MORE …}}
 
At that same meeting the Board discuss a capital projects rating system that could work for any project. After lengthy discussion, it was determined that staff would bring projects to the Board and provide detail information regarding the needs of the city. Campbell agreed to draft a proposal for the criteria ranking and present it to the Board for approval at the June meeting.
 

The UIB will meet this Thursday, June 1 at 6:00 p.m. at the Kennedale Community Center. Meetings are open to the public.

 
June meeting agenda items include …
  • receiving update and discuss recommended capital projects for the FY 2017-18 water/sewer budget
  • discussing and considering approving purposed criteria for a capital projects rating system
  • considering recommendation to Council for approval of a construction project with BSK-USA LLC for sanitary sewer improvements for the 300-400 block of Dick Price Road
  • considering recommendation to Council for approval of a construction project with William J. Schultz, Inc. dba Circle C Construction Company for sanitary sewer improvements for Paula Lane and Magnolia Drive.

Current board members are Robb Lecuyer, Steven Higginbotham, Harry Browne, Stephen Mora, Tayyab Yunus, Chris Fuller and Tom Newsom. Steve Lecuyer serves as Chair and Steve Higginbotham as Vice-Chair.
 
The Utility and Infrastructure Board advises and formulates recommendations to Council regarding policies, projects, and other matters pertaining to the water and wastewater system, the storm water utility system, the streets and transportation system, and the solid waste collection system.
