Outside of on-going investigations and regular duties, last week was a quiet week for the Kennedale
Police Department
with just five reports filed including returning a runaway, illegal towing, and credit card misuse. {{more}}
Incident Reports Feb 1 – 7
02/01 – Recovered Missing Person (Runaway) – 500 block of W. Kennedale Parkway: At 3:18 p.m. an officer observed a female walking with a bicycle. The female matched the description of a runaway from Mansfield. Upon contact, the female identified her self as the missing person. She was transported back to her home in Mansfield.
02/05 – Criminal Mischief $50 to $500 – 800 block of Pennsylvania Avenue: At 12:30 p.m. a victim observed two males in a tow truck illegally enter her property for the purpose of repossessing a vehicle. The males damaged an automatic gate and entered the property without authorization or the proper paperwork. The suspects left while the victim was contacting police abd were gone when the officer arrived. Contact was made with the loan company manager, who acknowledged the repossession. The manager refused to release any information without contacting the legal department. The officer informed the manager that the tow company had illegally entered the property as well as damaged the fence gate and a report was being filed. The manager later contacted the officer to see what could be worked out if the vehicle was returned. An attempt to contact the homeowner was unsuccessful and the case remains open.
02/05 – Criminal Mischief Under $50 – 100 block of Pine Meadows Drive: At 5:59 p.m. a victim reported that a neighbor had illegally entered her property and tampered with a security camera. The officer reviewed the footage and confirmed the trespass. The neighbor is suspected of an earlier theft of a firearm from the same residence.
02/06 – Fraudulent Use/Possession of Identifying Items – 100 block of Oakwood Lane: At 5:32 p.m. a victim reported that a family member used her credit card to secure cell phone services. The case is under investigation.
02/07 – Criminal Mischief $50 to $500 – 300 block of Spring Branch Lane: At 3:30 p.m. an officer responded to a report of a vehicle being illegally parked in the garage of a vacant house. The house, a rental property, was being shown by a leasing agent. The agent discovered the garage door broken from being forced open and a vehicle was parked inside. The owner could not be contacted and the vehicle was impounded to allow for time to investigate. The next day a female contacted police to determine how to retrieve her car. The landlord of the property in question contacted police and advised he knew the female. He advised that would address the property damage with her personally. The vehicle was released to the owner and no charges were filed.
