Kennedale has six boards besides city council where citizens are needed to serve. The people who serve on these boards are your neighbors and friends. {{more: Read more …}}
These are important committees that provided the city council the feedback and advice needed to run the city in the best interest of all. The deadline to file for a position on a board or commission for this coming year is September 9th.

KKB Place 1: Cesar Guerra (since 2015)
Cesar moved to Kennedale in 2014 to be closer to his fianc?, Nadia and her son, Matthew. They?ve since married and recently celebrated the birth of a daughter, Olivia. Cesar grew up in South Texas and earned a Finance Degree from the University of Texas Pan American in Edinburg. Since moving to Kennedale, he?s worked for Webber Construction as a Job Cost Analyst. Cesar and his family appreciate the small-town life that Kennedale offers.
KKB Place 2: Darlene Winters (2012)
Darlene has lived in Kennedale for all her life, except for the four years when her husband was in the service. After retiring two years ago, she wanted to be more involved and reconnect with her home town. Darlene enjoys gardening and sprucing things up, and thought KKB would be a perfect fit. She soon learned that KKB was all that and even more. The board spends time, not only working with city staff, but also with the community and school, and Darlene says, ?You really have an opportunity to share in this connection in many ways. And you get to know and work with some wonderful people.?

KKB Place 4: Michael Chandler (Chair) 2009
Michael was born in East Texas, but has lived in Kennedale for twenty years. His youngest daughter graduated from KHS this year, and he was heavily involved with PTA for the first seven of her school years. His wife, Vickie, serves on KKB also. The Chandlers all love the outdoors and serving Kennedale.
KKB Place 5: Wilda Turner (2009)
Wilda has lived in Kennedale since 1953, and graduated from KISD in 1958. She retired in December, 1999, as a retirement plans administrator at a major aerospace company. In 2000, she completed the classes and volunteer work required to become a member of the Tarrant County Master Gardeners Association, where she?s still a very active member. She?s also a founding member of KKB, and is most proud of the Butterfly/Bird Garden in Town Center Park and the recycling program, including Simple Recycling. Wilda has also adopted two ?spots? on Sublett Road through KKB?s ?Adopt-a-Spot? program. KKB Place7: Vickie Chandler (2001)
Vickie has lived in Kennedale for 40 years and has been very active in the community. She?s been involved with PTA, has volunteered at the Library since it was in the old building on New Hope, is a current member (and previously served on the board) of FOLK (Friends of the Library ? Kennedale), and helped plan countless fundraisers to get the new Library up and going. She?s currently Secretary of KKB and loves working side-by-side on the board with her husband, Michael.
KKB Place 8: Laurie Sanders (2001)
Laurie Sanders is a fifth generation Kennedalian, who?s lived here her entire life. She attended KHS and is still a proud Wildcat! Laurie and her husband, Ray, owned the Kennedale Donut Shop from the late 80s until 1997. In 2009, her high school sweetheart and husband of 37 years passed away, and in 2011 Laurie retired. She suddenly had a lot of extra time on her hands, and then her friend Vickie Massey Chandler invited her to join KKB. Three years later, she?s extremely active in the organization and loving it! Laurie also serves on the Brickworks Committee, the Historical Society, the Alumni Association, and is very involved at First United Methodist Kennedale, where she?s the Children’s Ministry Director and Church Secretary. Laurie?s advice: ?Serving: Such a beautiful word and beautiful thing to do. I highly recommend it. Get plugged in ? Get involved!?
KKB Place 9: Fred Winters (2001)
Fred grew up in Kennedale, and graduated from KHS (?72). He?s active at First Baptist Church and volunteers throughout the community, including mowing lawns for those who aren?t able. Fred is dedicated to strengthening and improving his hometown.The KKB engages residents and businesses to take greater
responsibility for improving the community?s appearance and environment. They also
develop and coordinate beautification-related programming, outreach, and
events, and serve as the Tree Advisory Board and the Tree City USA liaison. KKB
is responsible for many programs, including Adopt-a-Spot, Simple Recycling,
Arbor Day, the NWF Mayor?s Monarch Pledge and the annual ?Bring It!? event.
