The news for Wildcat Sports over the weekend was generally good with strong finishes for the Lady Kat Lifters, big hits and wins from the plate plus {{more: Continue …}}anticipation for another record at the upcoming state powerlifting meet and for the upcoming UIL Soccer playoffs.
POWERLIFTING: The Lady Kats, who had four to qualify for state, finished with Erica Rico in 10th place (97 Class); Kylie Howard, 4th place (148 Class); Morgan Erlyna, 4th place (259 Class) and Alissa Boubel. Overall and with just three qualifying for points, Kennedale finished in 26th place out of 84 teams that qualified for the state 4A championships.
POWERLIFTING:? Three Wildcat Powerlifters, Justin Lindsey, Ricardo Pena and Colton Hall will be lifting at the state powerlifting championships this week on March 25 at Taylor County Exposition Center ? 1700 Hwy 36, Abilene, Tx 79603. Justin Lindsay will be going after his third state title in the 115 pound class.
SOFTBALL: Lady Kat Softball walloped Castleberry Friday 15-0 to even district record to 2-2 w 6 doubles in 3 innings of play Jamie Franks got the win. Next game @ Diamond Hill-Jarvis at DHJ HS Tue, Mar 21 6:30PM
BASEBALL: Wildcats (7-8, 1-1) topped Castleberry 10-1, in their first win in district play last Friday ..Padgett 3/4, 2 doubles, 1 triple, 4RBI .. Jared Taylor w win w 2 hitter 7Ks, 1 run. On Saturday the Cats dropped a non-district game to Decatur 4-3 in a heartbreaker, outhitting Decatur 6 to 5 but allowing a double in the bottom of the 6th that scored 2 runs to give the Eagles the lead and the win. SOCCER: LadyKats and the Wildcats are waiting to see who will be their first round UIL bi-district playoff opponents. Games will be schedule for this weekend.
