Wildcat Varsity Choir achieves near perfection gets top rating

KHS Choir Director Matt Schenck has announced that the Varsity Choir has made a first for Kennedale High School by earning straight 1?s on their performance at UIL competition last week. {{more:[read more]}}
 
On a post Schenck said, ?For the very first time here at KHS, our very own Varsity Choir achieved something that?s never been done before, scored perfect scores on stage at UIL! [They made] straight ones!! As you can tell, I?m very proud of them as well as you should be too.?

There are five levels of performance ratings for the UIL

Concert and Sightreading contest, starting with poor (5), Below Average (4), Average (3), Excellent (2) and Superior (1). And there are three categories

that are judged – Tone, Technique and Musicianship.

A superior rating requires 1 in each category …
 
Terminology the judges use in the ratings for superior are ?highly developed,? ?near perfect,? ?elevated

awareness,? ?consistency,? ?near flawless,? ?minimal lapses,? ?control of all

aspect,? ?correct pitches,? and ?convey an artistic, energetic, and emotional performance.?
