? ? ?On Friday night the Kennedale Wildcats (20-2) beat longtime rival Alvarado 73-59 in a game that Alvarado led at halftime and kept the pressure on Kennedale until the 4th. The Wildcats, who are ranked #3 in 3A for Texas, outscored the Yellow Jackets 23-10. Top scorers for the Cats were Ty Charles with 22 points followed by Aundre Williams with 18, Jordan Braswell 11 and AJ Hughes with 9. Kennedale will start district play Friday against the Castleberry Lions at Castleberry. Varsity is scheduled to play at 8 p.m.
? ? ?The Wildcats had one of their best pre-district seasons ever losing only to Princeton and splitting with Stephenville. The Cats won the 55th Annual Whataburger Tournament?s Blue Division for the first time, playing in a field that included the top teams in the 2A and 3A.
