Wildcats finish 2nd, LadyKats 3rd in 4A Region Track & Headed to State

The defending State Champion Kennedale Wildcat and the LadyKat track teams had a good couple of days at the Region 1 4A Track meet in Lubbock this past weekend. While finishing in 1st or 2nd place in five different events, the two teams earned enough points overall to finish in second and third place in team totals. {{more}}

 

Those finishing in the top two spots in each event will advance to the UIL State meet.

 

Region champions with gold performances (1st place finishes) included both the LadyKats (Maiya Burgess, Kathyrn

Mosley, Heather Parsons and Hailey Patterson) and the Wildcat (Pryce O’Brien, Taylor

Thibeau, Derrick Williams and Dailyn Wells) 4x100m relay teams and Price O’Brien in the 400m.

Earning Silver (2nd ) place at Lubbock were Maiya Burgess in the 200m; Hailey Patterson 2nd place long jump; and Derrick Williams in the long jump.

Others earning points for the team and placing were Hailey Patterson 3rd place in the 100m; the Lady Kats (Trezur Hereford, Nia Brown,

Julia Mosley and Heather Parsons) in 4x200m relay with a 4th; Jasmyn Poe a 3rd in the triple jump with a lifetime best ; Gjemar Daniels with a 4th in the shot put and in the high jump Taylor Thibeau and VJ Hughes with a 4th and 5th respectively.
