Wildcats return to winning with 10-1 pounding of Nevada Community

As warm-up games go, it was a good win. Playing at home, the Kennedale Wildcats polished off Nevada Community after a little bit of struggle early by getting nine runs on six hits in the 5th and 6th inning. {{more}}
 
Kennedale?s Austin Eggleston had a good night on the mound as well as at the plate. Striking out nine batters, Eggleston allowed no earned runs on four hits and no walks over seven innings. He threw 53 strikes in 83 pitches, getting 9 ground/fly outs. At the plate he helped himself by hitting 2 triples and earning 3 RBIs.
 

Nevada got on the board first with a one run inning with Eggleston struggling early by allowing two singles, a walk (hit batter) and a error. But the Cats showed some defensive prowess by catching two runners stealing with the first caught

stealing 2nd [S O’Connor, S Murchison, S O’Connor] and the second caught

stealing 3rd [A Eggleston, T Perez, B Hackett, S O’Connor, David Walsh].

 
Kennedale tied the game up in the 3rd with one run on a single by Shane O?Connor, a Steven Murchison fielder choice grounder and a triple by Eggleston.
 
Both teams went three up, three down in the 4th leaving the game knotted at 1.
 
Kennedale finally broke it open with a three run 5th when TJ Aguilar reached on error and advanced on a O?Connor sacrifice, a Murchison walk and the second triple by Eggleston. The score going into the 6th was 4-1.
 
The Kennedale Wildcats Varsity scored six runs in the sixth to seal the win on a triple by Cody Bosaller, an RBI single by Tyler Perez, a walk by O?Connor, a fielder’s choice reach on base by Byrce Hackett, a two-run single by Steven Murchison, and a two-run single by Aaron Williams.
 
Eggleston put his stamp on the win getting a strike out and two groundouts in the top of the 7th.
 
Kennedale plays Athens Saturday afternoon in Athens as the last warm-up game before a best of three series with Bridgeport in a bi-district matchup next week.
