Greene cites the strength of our country
Despite the fears drummed up by candidates and supporters on both sides of this election, we will wake up on Wednesday morning, head out to work or school and our world as we know will continue because {{more:Read more …}}we live in the United States of America, still the envy of the world.
Former mayor of Arlington, Richard Greene, and now a columnist for the Star Telegram, has penned a op-ed piece that puts things in perspective.
In his piece titled Regardless of the election outcome, the U.S. is still No. 1, Greene states,
?Regardless of the outcome of Tuesday?s elections, we are still going to wake up the next morning privileged to live in the safest and most successful society in all of human history.?
?The biggest economy on earth will support the promise of personal success, the strongest military in the world will stand guard over us, and the American dream lives on.?
This comes from a partisan columnist who in the past has wasted little sympathy or minces few words on the failings of those of the party currently residing in the White House.
His column mentioned no names or names no party but offers words of encouragement of those who still believe that this country is great. The country will survive intact and quite well. Our forefathers were smarter than, perhaps, we are currently giving them credit. This nation is greater that one which ever that one is.
Greene ends his column, ?Take heart. We?re going to be OK. Actually, much better than OK.?
