Kennedale High School Spanish Teacher Patricia Arnold was recently published by Emerald Publishing Company. Ms. Arnold joined the high school staff this year.
Ms. Arnold and her co-author, Dr. María Teresa Martínez García of Hankuk University of Foreign Studies in Seoul, S. Korea, wrote a chapter for the book Technology-enhanced Learning and Linguistic Diversity: Strategies and Approaches to Teaching Students in a 2nd or 3rd Language.
Their chapter, Translanguaging Strategies for Teaching Literature in a Multicultural Setting, focuses on the use of a student’s first language to help the student understand content material in a second or third language. The book will be used as a college textbook for preparing new bilingual and foreign language teachers worldwide.

“Profe” Arnold has over 30 years of teaching with almost 20 years of that at the college level. She enjoys studying and doing research on how is the best way to teach a second language. She is teaching Spanish 1 classes at the high school.
