Lucie Sargent’s Brickyard 1902 Kennedale, Tarrant Co, Texas, USA Kennedale was a a leading producer of bricks in the late 1800’s and early 1900’s in the Dallas Ft Worth area. It had at least two brick yards.

Sam Cooper started working in the brick yard at age twelve with his father William “Bill” Cooper and his future father-in-law Ben F Brown Sr. Ben’s son Ben “Frank” Brown also worked in the brick yard but not pictured here. By 1920 there is not mention of the brick yards and my grandfather Sam Cooper had moved on to firing furnaces at other brick yards and finally at Waples Platter Company in Ft Worth, Tarrant, Texas until his retirement.

In the year 2011 the site of the brick yards, which has become Senora Park, was given a marker by the City of Kennedale to document it’s importance to the economy of Kennedale during those years.
