On Saturday the 15th from 10:00 am – 1:00 pm, the Warriors baseball team will be holding a car wash at Kennedale Burger Box to raise money for the upcoming baseball season. Due to COVID restrictions, Arlington Southwest Little League has canceled its upcoming season. Coach Jeremy Johnston along with assistant coaches Tony Landrum, Xavier Sanchez, Josh Altom and Chad Whitney have decided to take the team and name to play tournament games at other cities nearby.
Josh Altom, Kennedale City Councilman says, “Our first tournament is in Benbrook on the 22nd of this month. This first tournaments entry fee is $410.00. The team now has to also purchase insurance, new uniforms, other tournament entry fees and practice rentals. All these have become substantially more costly then when playing at Arlington Southwest. We love Arlington Southwest Little League but think this new opportunity will give these kids a chance to forget about what’s going on in the world as well as improve their ever growing skills. Please come by and donate or get your vehicle washed.”
