Pastor’s Corner: LIVING LIFE IN GOD’s LOVE! 02/15/2021
There’s one thing that will never change in your life and that is God’s unconditional, unrelenting, undiminished, overwhelming, unending love for you! God’s love for you is a foundation you can build your life on because it’s reliable, stable, consistent, steadfast, unwavering, unchangeable and it never will fail you! 1 Corinthians 13:8.
Man’s love many times is conditional and built on emotion or feelings! So many people have walls that they have built up because they have been let down, disappointed, hurt, abused or betrayed by someone else! Whenever we put our trust in people, we are almost certain to be let down in a big way!
We need to understand that God’s love for us is unconditional love and it will never disappoint. Romans 5:5 declares, God’s love does not disappoint because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Ghost. Not only will you never be disappointed when you put your trust in God’s love for you, but God pours out His love in your heart to bring healing everywhere you’ve been hurt, and God’s love brings restoration to your mind and to your emotions!
Whatever your situation is right now as you read this, nobody is ever beyond the reach of God’s love! Regardless of how low you think you have fallen and in spite of how far away you may feel you are from God, you’re not beyond the reach of God’s love!
You can never do something so bad to make God love you any less and you cannot do something so good to make God love you anymore than he does right now!
God wants you to know that his love for you is everlasting! Jeremiah 31:3. NIV. Romans 5:8 lets us know that God demonstrated his love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. In other words, when I was going my own way, doing my own thing, in rebellion, separated from God and didn’t care anything about God, that’s when God demonstrated his love to me in the person of Jesus Christ.
God was at His best when we were at our worst!
God’s love will reach you right where you are and says: you can be forgiven in spite of the sin you have committed; you can come out of that bondage and be delivered, you can come out of that addiction and be free, you can come out of that abuse and be healed and you can come out of whatever negative circumstance you are in an be made whole!
Knowing and experiencing the love of God is not speculation, guesswork, emotions or feelings but Paul Prayed in Ephesians 3:19, we may know the love of Christ which passes knowledge! In other words, you can live your knowing and experiencing God’s love every day of your life!
I have been touched deeply by the worship song we sing many times in our church, written by Caleb Culver, Cory Hunter Asbury and Randy Matthew Jackson:
“There’s no shadow You won’t light up mountain You won’t climb up coming after me!
There’s no wall You won’t kick down lie You won’t tear down, coming after me!
Oh, the overwhelming, never-ending reckless love of God! Oh, it chases me down, fights ’til I’m found, leaves the 99, I couldn’t earn it, I don’t deserve it, still You give yourself away!
Oh, the overwhelming, never-ending reckless love of God!
My prayer is that God’s love is ministering to you right now, overwhelming you, sweeping over you, covering you in such a way that you will never be the same again! Once you have tasted of God’s love, your heart will forever be captured; and your life will forever be God’s! We love him because he first loved us!
Romans 8:38-39 (NKJV) For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, 39. nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Live Now, Live On and Love Life Knowing Nothing will ever be able to separate you from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 8:38-39. NKJV.
