Homecoming – Kennedale vs Castleberry Lions 7:30 pm, Lady Kat Volleyball vs Uplift North Hills 5:30 pm.
Wildcat Football …
After a week off, Kennedale (2-1), ranked #14 in Texas 4A will take on the Castleberry Lions (0-3) at Wildcat Stadium in Kennedale Friday.
Besides being the homecoming game, it is also the kick-off of District 6-4A play. The Cats will be going after their 10th straight district title under Head Coach Richard Barrett. It should be a perfect evening for football beyond the weather.
The Cats are the odds-on favorite in the game. Kennedale has won 9 in a row over the Lions. Castleberry can only hope that the Cats will be overlooking them.
The Lions opened the season with a competitive loss against 4-0 Mineral Wells 34-28 but couldn’t score against Godley (3-1) losing 62-0 nor Glen Rose (3-1) 47-0 the following week.
Lady Kat Volleyball …
The Kennedale Lady Kat Volleyball team (23-5) will also start the defense of their district title with a district opener against Irving North Hills Preparatory.
Game time is set for 5:30 pm in the Wildcat Den at Kennedale High School. Kennedale has not lost a district game in the last three seasons.
The Kats will be looking for a rebound after consecutive losses. Playing shorthanded last Friday, the Kennedale fell to Glen Rose 3-2 and then again to Stephenville 3-2, both down to the wire matches.
