Kennedale High School Principal Michael Cagle posted the following open letter this past weekend along with the heading “***ACTION REQUIRED FOR KHS UPPERCLASSMEN. PLEASE READ.*** He also included a video presentation that includes general information about additional changes and cautions for the upcoming year.
“KHS Upperclassmen (Juniors and Seniors), Kennedale High School has adopted a new, regular Bell Schedule for 2020-21. KISD extended the school day by 25 minutes for the upcoming school year, and the new Bell Schedule incorporates the additional minutes and will help us serve both virtual and in-person learners.
I encourage parents, students, teachers, staff members, and other stakeholders to watch the following video presentation regarding the KHS 2020-21 Bell Schedule, which features a 9-Period Day with a 1st Period Study Hall. The KHS school day will be from 7:45 am to 3:45 pm. The video also includes important updates and information regarding the KISD 2020-21 Calendar, breakfast/lunch, athletic periods, and more.

KHS Upperclassmen (11th and 12th Graders with 12 or more credits) have the option to take the Study Hall elective or have Late Arrival during the 1st Period. All KHS Upperclassmen must complete the following form to select their 1st Period class option. KHS Upperclassmen who do not complete the following form will be automatically enrolled in a 1st Period Study Hall. KHS Upperclassmen who will regularly be on campus during the 1st Period must choose the Study Hall option so that KHS can provide a safe environment for students. KHS Upperclassmen who choose Late Arrival will not be allowed to roam hallways, the cafeteria, or other common areas during the 1st Period.
