Continuing the tradition of one of the best programs in the DFW area, the Kennedale Wildcat (18-7, 4-0), under Head Coach Doug Groff, are once again in the driver’s seat in the race for a top seed in the upcoming UIL playoffs.
The Wildcats have nine games left. Eight are district games. Currently, the Cats are 4-0 in district play and are coming off a 72-42 win over Alvarado (12-10). Other district wins this season include Godley (5-16) by 74-38, Hillsboro (12-9) by 87-40, and Ferris (15-10) by 78-37.
The two games that remain in the first half of district play include Life Waxahachie (20-6, 2-1) at home tonight, January 10, weather permitting, and at Venus (10-13, 3-1) Tuesday, January 14. Kennedale starts the second round at Ferris on Tuesday, January 21. Tip-off for all district games are 7:30 pm.
District standings: Kennedale is in first place (4-0) followed by Venus 3-1, Life Waxahachie (2-1), Ferris (2-1), Alvarado (1-2), Hillsboro (0-3), and Godley (0-4).
