Effective immediately, all Kennedale Police Officers interacting with the public are authorized to wear N95 masks and protective gloves.

We understand that this may look or feel a bit strange, but we are dedicated to doing what is necessary to protect the health and safety of everyone.

As a department, other steps we?re taking to protect our officers and the public include:

  • Closer screening of calls through dispatch, including the option to complete reports over the phone for non-violent crimes that do not require an officer on-scene
  • Encouraging officers to engage temperature monitoring, frequent hand washing, and social distancing
  • Increased cleaning and disinfecting of vehicles (daily with wipes; weekly with mist)
  • Protocols for responding to reduced staffing or symptom development while on shift
The COVID-19 pandemic has been challenging for first responders, the medical community, all levels of government, and the public that we serve.
