Two pitchers combined to throw a no-hitter for Kennedale Lady Kats?in a 16-3 victory in seven innings over Early on Friday at Weatherford College.
Kaitlyn Leeds and Allie Turner tallied 13 strikeouts and walked four in completing the no-no.
Turner pitched lights out for the Lady Kats. Turner held Early hitless over 5 1/3 innings, allowed no earned runs, walked four and struck out 11. {{more}}?Seven runs in the opening three innings allowed Kennedale to easily put away Early. A groundout by Elizabeth Schiele and an RBI single by Jazlyn Crowder in the first inning fueled Kats’ offense early.?Crowder did her best to jumpstart the offense for Kennedale Lady Kats Varsity, reaching base four times during the game. She scored three runs and had two RBIs.?Kennedale Lady Kats Varsity added five more runs in the top of the third. The inning looked promising, as Cheyenne Trotter doubled, plating Lacey Bailey and Schiele to kick things off. That was followed up by Maegan Garza‘s double, scoring Cheyenne Trotter and Crowder.?Kennedale increased its lead with eight runs in the sixth. It was hard to keep up with who was batting and who was scoring. A ground out scored Crowder to start the scoring in the inning. In the inning Crowder reached on an error first. ?Abair then reached on a sacrifice bunt and Crowder scores. Garza reaches on a error and Ciara Trotter walks. Rebekah Abair scores on wild pitch. The Early game did not count in the playoff. ?It was billed as a warm-up game for both teams.?
