?The Kennedale Wildcats, who had made it into the regional semi-final state playoffs with a #6 state ranking after blowing through district play with only one loss, saw their super season come to an end Saturday afternoon against Lubbock Cooper with a 6-2 loss.?It was a tight game that was not decided until the eighth inning when the game tied 2-2 was broken open with a 4 run eighth by Cooper. ?{{more}}Kennedale had lost game one on Friday 3-0 in the best of three series.?Scotland Church got the win for Lubbock Cooper. He allowed two runs over eight innings. Church struck out 10, walked five and gave up three hits.?Lubbock Cooper jumped out to an early 2-0 lead in the top of the first. Lubbock Cooper got a spark in the form of a Parr single, before before Church homered, plating Parr.
?The Wildcats got one-run rallies in the second inning and the sixth. In the second, the Kennedale scored on a groundout by Austin Eggleston, bringing home Jay Thomas.?In a replay of the second, the Cats tied the game at 2 in the bottom of the sixth with a run scored again by Jay Thomas off a single by Austin Eggleston.
The game stayed tied through regular play and into extra inning. Cooper had been stranding runners almost every inning but in the 8th they were able to get them across the plate, scoring four runs on a fielder’s choice, a passed ball, and a two-run single by Chase Freeman.?Kennedale had 2 runs on 3 hits.
