The Kennedale Lady Kats volleyball team earned six honors on the District 6-3A team for 2013.
The Kennedale Lady Kats, coached by Christina Rudiger, made the playoffs again this year after securing a second place finish in District 6-3A with a district record of 8-2. Kennedale finished with an overall record of 16-20-1. {{more}}
Named as Outstanding Hitter, was Rachel Dixon (Sr) who finished with 228 kills, a .325% hitting rate, 26 solo blocks, 70 total blocks, 179 digs and 36 aces.
Named as an Outstanding Setter, was Amberlee Cook (Sr) who finished with 28 aces, 128 digs, 50 kills, a .321 hitting percentage and 35 total blocks.
The Newcomer of the Year was Jodi Dixon (Fr) with 103 kills, a .250 hitting percentage, 33 total blocks and 20 aces.
Named to the 1st Team was Maggie Pyles (So) who finished with 194 kills, a .228 hitting rate, 251 digs, 30 blocks and 34 aces.
Making 2nd Team honors were two players Kylie Foster and Danielle Hedglin. Foster (So) finished with 43 aces, 145 digs and 85 kills. Hedglin (Jr) finished with 143 digs.
Kennedale in the playoffs won the first contest against Vernon in five sets (23-25, 25-21, 25-22, 25-12, 17-15). Kennedale then lost in area play against Stephenville in three (22-25, 23-25, 15-25).
