KHS Junior Blake Bunnell, an All-State swimmer, will be competing in Austin in the 4A State Swim Meet this weekend. This will be his third appearance in 3 years. Bunnell, who represents Kennedale High School, will be swimming in the 500 yard freestyle and the 200 yard free.
At the Region 2-4A swimming championships earlier this month, Blake Bunnell won the 500 yard free for the third year in a row with a time of 4:40.71. He also placed second in the 200 yard free with a time of 1:44.37. He has qualified for both events in Austin this year. {{more}}
A competitive swimmer, Blake chose to swim for Kennedale High School even though the school does not field a team other than Blake nor have a swim coach on staff. He has been allowed to enter area meets at the 4A level since very few 3A schools have a swim program. He swims regularly with a Mansfield High School.

Last year in Austin, Bunnell finished 6th in the 500 freestyle and was selected to the 2013 4A All-State Swim Team.
The state meet will be broadcasted live on Foxsportssouthwest.com at 9:30 AM on a web cast.
