John Clark did not file for re-election as Mayor of Kennedale as reported earlier in the Kennedale News.
Clark who has been mayor since 2012 ran in the Republican Primary for Judge of Tarrant County District Court 297th this year. {{more}}He lost by approximately 800 votes out of 66,604 votes cast on Tuesday.
Clark has served on the City Council since 1999. Before serving on the City Council he served on the Board of Adjustment and was the chairman of the Home Rule Charter Commission which drafted Kennedale?s Home Rule Charter.
Filing for Mayor, unopposed was current city council member Brian Johnson. Also, filing for office unopposed were Council Member Liz Carrington in Place 2 and City Council member Kelly Turner in Place 4. The filing deadline was February 28, 2014.

The Kennedale News received confirmation today that since there were no contested races and the May 7 elections should be cancelled at the next week?s City Council meeting.
The new Kennedale Mayor will be Johnson and the City Council will welcome back current members Carrington and Turner for another two years.
Johnson has been on Kennedale?s City Council since 2005. Before that he served on the Planning and Zoning Commission from 1998 to 2005. Brian also serves on the Tarrant Regional Transportation Coalition Executive Board and the National League of Cities Youth, Education and Families Council. His main goal on city council is to provide residents with a high quality of city services and amenities.
Johnson was appointed to the position of Mayor Pro-Tem in June 2012.
New office holders will be sworn-in at the June City Council meeting.
