Kennedale gallops by Dallas Carter Cowboys 70-21

It didn?t always look like it on the field but Kennedale (5-0) dominated the Carter Cowboys (1-5) Friday night winning 70-21 while racking up 723 yards in total offense. {{more}}

 

Carter had what would seem to be a good night with 398 yards of total offense. In most games that should be enough for a win but not this night. The Cowboys had 222 yards on the ground and 176 yards through the air going 15 for 31 attempts.

But a typical drive for Cowboys was similar to their second possession of the game when Carter drove down to the Kennedale 38 yard line on a mixture of passing and running. The drive ended when the Cats forced a Carter fumble.

Carter could make big plays but that would be followed by consecutive losses caused by a swarming Kennedale defense. Several times Carter was in the red zone but the D-Cats for Kennedale would not break and the ball would go over on downs.

Kennedale had three players over 100 yards. Washington led all rushers with 304 yards and 6 TDs. (Washington is nearing the 1000 yard mark for the season). Cody Gillespie had 185 and 2 TDs. Ronald Hayes had 160 yards and 2 TD. Kennedale Quarterback Jake Michener went 0-4-0 passing but rushed for 76 yards on just 7 carries.

 

After an open week, Kennedale starts district play hosting the Springtown Porcupines in Wildcat Stadium. Springtown (3-1) beat Vernon 33-26 Friday night. Wildcat Football Schedule
