Last weekend the Marching Wildcat Band of Kennedale High School scored straight 1?s at the Region VII UIL Marching Contest in Glen Rose. {{more}}
Ten 4A bands competed for the chance to move on to Area contest this week at Cedar Park. Of the 10 bands, Stephenville, Godley, Springtown, Kennedale, Fort Worth Castleberry and Alvarado each earned a 1 rating.
This is the equivalent to the state playoffs in athletics except for bands it only happens every two years. The Wildcat Band is a veteran of the state marching contests having made it to the state level the last four times.
This week the Area D UIL Marching Contest is hosted by Leander ISD and will be held at Gupton Stadium S. Vista Ridge Blvd at E. Park St, Cedar Park, Texas 78613. Map Link
The Marching Wildcats are schedule to perform at 10:45 a.m. Saturday morning, October 24, 2014. Finals are not scheduled until 7:30 p.m. The Marching Cats will not be back home until 2:30 Sunday morning.
Because of the morning performance time, the Wildcat band will be leaving Kennedale well before daybreak on Saturday morning. As a result the Wildcat band will not be performing at Friday night?s game against Castleberry this week.
The Marching Cats will have a full run through of their show, Arctic Majesty, this Thursday evening at approximately 8:30 p.m. at Wildcat Stadium.
