Marilyn Shirley 1952 – 2014

Marilyn Jean “Grandmu” Shirley, 62, passed away surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, Dec. 16, 2014. {{more}}

 

Funeral: 3:30 p.m. Saturday in Greenwood Chapel. Interment: Greenwood Memorial Park. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Greenwood.

 

Marilyn was born Oct. 29, 1952, in Dublin to Billy and Daphine Hudson.

 

She graduated from Brewer High School in 1971 and was involved in the band and was Cosmetology Sweetheart.

 

She married her high school sweetheart, Lawrence, in 1970.

 

Marilyn was an administrative bookkeeper and secretary for the Kennedale and Mansfield school districts for 28 years.

 

She was a volunteer for Gateway Church. Marilyn will be remembered for her cooking and laughter, and she had a huge heart for her family and others.

 

She was preceded in death by her mother, Daphine Hudson.

 

Survivors: Husband of 42 years, Lawrence Shirley Jr.; children, Laurie Williams and husband, George, Chris Shirley and wife, Fjorela, Tiffany Hall and husband, Shawn; grandchildren, Cassidy, Macie, Claudio and Landry; father, Billy Hudson; brother, Phil Hudson and wife, Pat; and beloved dog, Snickers.
